The Victorian Government is investing $42 million into planning for school infrastructure projects to fast-track the state’s long-term economic recovery hit by the coronavirus pandemic.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney visited Hampden Specialist School today to announce Hampden Specialist School and Terang College are amongst 33 further schools given the green light to start planning for upgrades and new builds under the Infrastructure Planning and Acceleration Fund.
The Victorian Government is providing $1.187 million to plan for the relocation of Hampden Specialist School P-4 Campus and Terang College P-4 Campus to the Terang College 5-12 Campus.
The Victorian School Building Authority will work with school communities and provide principals and school leaders with ‘Bricks & Mortar’ training, which covers the process schools should follow to successfully manage their project.
Developing detailed designs now will mean these projects will be shovel-ready once capital funding is allocated in a future State Budget.
The Victorian Government is investing an unprecedented $7.2 billion in Victorian school infrastructure, which is delivering more than 1,460 school upgrades and 100 new schools by 2026 – ensuring every child can access a great local school where they can achieve their best.
