The Victorian Government is getting behind local communities and men’s mental health and social wellbeing, by opening a much improved men’s shed in Anglesea.
A $20,000 Victorian Government grant has supported the refurbishment of the Anglesea Men’s Shed in Cameron Road.
The refurbishment includes a new main entry, separate metal working area, a large community room and a quiet space for men to support one another with health and well-being issues.
Along with Victorian Government support, the construction of the new shed was also supported by Surf Coast Shire Council and the Anglesea and District Men’s Shed group.
Since 2015, Victorian Government support of men’s sheds has funded 100 men’s shed groups to either build a new men’s shed or refurbish an existing men’s shed. There are now more than 360 sheds across Victoria.
