Passengers on Warrnambool line services will save up to 10 minutes on their journey when the new V/Line timetable starts on Sunday 26 August.
Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney said locals will benefit from reduced journey times thanks to changes to service stopping patterns.
This latest improvement for Warrnambool line passengers adds to the 12 extra services and safety upgrades to 22 level crossings last year.
The new timetable will cut the overall journey time anywhere between one and 10 minutes on Warrnambool line services.
There will be changes to departure and arrival times of Warrnambool services at all stations along the line, including between Waurn Ponds and Melbourne.
Warrnambool passengers will also benefit from access to more express options.
The 5:56am and 12:06pm trains from Warrnambool to Melbourne, and the 7:23am train from Melbourne to Warrnambool will no longer stop at Marshall and South Geelong.
Work is now underway on the $114 million Warrnambool Line Upgrade to pave the way for more trains and a more comfortable journey between Warrnambool and Melbourne.
Passengers are encouraged to check the new timetable before travelling. For more information visit ptv.com.au, vline.com.au, or call 1800 800 007.
