Later that day I assisted in the launch of the DVD Cattle Stories and Bush
Yarns. The Brumby Labor government contributed $5000 towards this project to
record the living history of livestock agents, cattlemen, drovers and women who
were involved in the history of livestock selling in the district.
The Brumby Labor government knows it is extremely important for
small communities such as Heywood to have an opportunity to record and keep
stories for future generations. Congratulations to all, particularly those
members of the Promoting Heywood and District Committee, and I look forward to
seeing the fruits of its next exciting project.
