To ask the Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development: In relation to grants made in 2010 to kindergartens located within the city of Ballarat:
(1) What individual grants were provided to each kindergarten.
(2) What was the dollar value of each of these grants.
(3) What was the purpose of each grant.
ANSWER:
I am informed as follows:
The 2010-11 children’s capital program allocated the following grants to kindergartens located within the city of Ballarat;
Minor capital grants:
Twenty-five grants of $2300 were provided.
These grants were for minor capital works.
Renovation & refurbishment grants:
Two grants ranging from $78 793 to $200 000 were provided.
These grants were for renovation and refurbishment works.

IT & equipment grants
Twenty-five grants of $2500 were provided.
These grants were for IT & equipment.
