Gayle Tierney MP today announced a $20,000 grant for the Dartmoor & District
Progress Association Inc project to restore the Avenue of Honour Memorial Streetscape Carvings to commemorate, support and remember the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
Victorians are preparing to pay their respects on ANZAC Day, and the Andrews Labor
Government is working hard to give our servicemen and women the fitting tribute they deserve – and the support they need.
Gayle Tierney, Member for Western Victoria, said the grant would restore the Avenue
of Honour sculptures to their original state by resealing the wood to prevent future deterioration.
The Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour Grants Program helps
communities ensure local war memorials, avenues of honour and honour rolls are restored to their original condition or improved to reflect the service and history of the local community.
