Students from the state’s south west will have better access to training thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney today announced $60,000 to help Terang College charter two 24-seat buses for two years to transport VET students from five schools within the Corangamite Trade Training Cluster to attend programs in Cobden, Timboon and Terang.
The two charter buses provide direct access to training opportunities covering a range of trades for students from Cobden Technical School, Camperdown College, Terang College, Derrinallum P-12 College and Timboon P-12 School.
Previously, schools in the cluster had to make ad-hoc arrangements to transport students from one campus to another, including short-term charters at significant cost.
The financial boost from the Labor Government comes from its Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program which provides funding for local transport initiatives, services and infrastructure in regional Victoria.
