Lake Colac School students have access to bigger, better classrooms and state-of-the-art learning facilities to learn in, thanks to the Allan Labor Government.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney today visited the school to officially open the $19.2 million school and to tour the new campus.
The project modernised the existing heritage building on the former Colac High School site, adding a library, art room, music room, staff areas and workspaces, woodwork room, food technology facility and an Early Education Program (EEP) facility with its own dedicated playground.
The funding also provided for external works, including a new car park, a separate and secure bus and student entry area, play areas and a garden.
Lake Colac School is one of 39 Victorian state schools to benefit from Labor’s largest ever single investment of $388.8 million to upgrade specialist schools.
In the past 10 years, the Government has invested $16.9 billion in building new schools and upgrading more than 2,200 schools.
This investment will ensure every child can receive a great education, that our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population and that our government schools are better equipped to prepare students for the 21st century.
