The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to support grassroots sport with new facilities on the way for Colac.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney today announced that the Labor Government would contribute up to $350,000 to deliver the Eastern Reserve Training Facility in Colac.
The funding will enable the delivery of a training facility for cricket and baseball at Eastern Reserve, Colac and will benefit City United Cricket Club and Colac Braves Baseball Club.
Eastern Reserve is also utilised by a number of other local and regional community sport and recreation clubs and organisations, including Colac and District Netball Association, Colac Summer Netball Association and Colac Night Netball Association.
Eastern Reserve received $120,000 from the Victorian Government in June for the resurfacing of six netball courts from asphalt to acrylic, new spectator seating and an accessible drinking fountain at Eastern Reserve.
The Victorian Budget 2022/23 is providing an additional $88 million to deliver new and improved community sports infrastructure and programs to boost participation in local sports clubs and organisations.
This initiative is part of the Government’s investment of more than $1.6 billion in community sport infrastructure since 2014. Investments like these are all about creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and improving the health, wellbeing, and social outcomes for Victorian communities.
