New wayfinding signage in Torquay is set to enhance the local community and visitor experience, thanks to a grant from the Allan Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, the Hon Gayle Tierney MP, today joined representatives from Surf Coast Shire Council to mark the completion of the Torquay Wayfinding project.
The project, which was made possible through a $175,000 grant from the Growing Suburbs Fund, $20,000 from the Regional Infrastructure Fund, and $175,000 from Surf Coast Shire Council, has installed signage providing residents and visitors with valuable knowledge about attractions, services and facilities available in the area.
The new signage is designed to enhance connectivity between key precincts, support Town Centre Traders, improve the community and visitor experience, and increase awareness of coastal features, beaches, native vegetation and cultural sites.
Since 2020, Surf Coast Shire Council has received more than $4 million in funding towards three projects from the State’s Growing Suburbs Fund, delivering over $10 million in project value.
