Students in Heywood will soon have access to the first-rate classrooms and facilities they deserve, with work under way upgrading Heywood and District Secondary College.
Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney today announced that Bowden Corporation has been appointed to build the school’s $600,000 upgrade, which will help it deliver a 21st century education.
The upgrade will include the refurbishment of Technology areas, staff work areas and students toilets in Block 2. It will also include the installation of two dust extraction fans in the Woodwork building and removal of asbestos in Block 2.
Under the Andrews Labor Government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.
The Andrews Labor Government has invested $5.6 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, supporting over 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.
