Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney today congratulated the four clubs for securing funding in the 2023-24 Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program.
Recipients include Corangamite Lions Football Club, scoring $4000 to host events to attract more women players to try out and play soccer.
Forrest MTB and Cycling Club will receive $7600 to run a series of free skills sessions for females of all ages and abilities, aimed at getting more girls behind the handlebars.
$5000 will help Torquay’s Surfcoast Women’s Boardriders to run monthly clinics with a Surfing Victoria qualified instructor over the course of 12 months, with the aim of building skills, confidence and community amongst women in surfing.
