The Victorian Government is continuing to support veterans and their families in Western Victoria, with the latest round of grants to support the ex-service community.
Minister for Veterans Shaun Leane and Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney earlier this week announced the successful recipients from three separate veterans’ grants programs, delivering 62 projects State wide.
The announcement includes more than $46,000 for the Warrnambool RSL Sub-Branch for their RSL Veterans Support Centre which delivers services to veterans and to their families too. The Centre helps veterans in dealing with the Department of Veterans Affairs, funds benevolent welfare grants and supports recent veterans from the Timor conflict onwards, to deliver preventative mental health programs, reconnecting veterans and supporting their transition back into the local community.
Other projects in Western Victoria include those that will preserve veterans’ legacy for future generations, as well as ongoing support to assist ex-service organisations impacted by the global coronavirus pandemic.
