More Victorians will have access to jobs and important services in the Otways thanks to an Andrews Labor Government grant program.
Labor Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney today announced environmental conservation group, Wildife Wonders would receive over $32,100 in funding towards new equipment to support their local social enterprise.
The investment will allow the business to purchase a coffee caravan to enable it to sell coffees both onsite and across the region. The investment will mean they can increase business and jobs as well as promote their important conservation work to more people.
Wildlife Wonders is one of 32 social enterprises sharing in more than $1 million under the Labor Government’s Social Enterprise Support Grants Program.
Under the program, the Government is supporting social enterprises to buy plant, machinery or equipment worth up to $50,000.
The investments will be used to grow their businesses, hire more staff, and deliver greater impact to the community.
Social enterprises put people before profits and trade to intentionally tackle social problems, improve communities, provide people access to employment and training, or help the environment.
They are major employers, providing approximately 60,000 Victorians with meaningful work and contributing over $5.2 billion to the state’s economy annually.
The Government supports a thriving social enterprise sector that creates more jobs, delivers social and economic benefits, and supplies quality and diverse goods and services.
